Shipping policy

This shipping policy is for orders from Hillside Greenhouse, packed at 160 Carver Rd, Boaz, AL 35956. It covers every product currently on the shop: the greenhouse kits (4x6, 6x8, 6x10, 8x12, 10x12, and the 4x8 lean-to), the cold frames, and the accessories (vent kit, staging bench, timber base, panel repair pack, automatic vent opener, and shade cloth). Kits leave as larger freight-style parcels. They use the same cutoff, handling time, and transit window as the smaller cartons. There is no separate schedule by product.

Where we ship

We ship to addresses in the United States only. Checkout will not complete a delivery address in another country.

Current checkout rates

The rates configured on the shop today are a $49 flat charge, and free shipping when the order total is $500 or more. Those are the current checkout rates. The shipping amount shown at checkout is the amount to confirm before you pay. If checkout and this page ever disagree, checkout is the charge for that order.

Order cutoff

The order cutoff is 2:00 PM (GMT-06:00) Central Time (Chicago). An order placed before 2:00 PM Central Time on a fulfillment day starts handling that day. An order placed after 2:00 PM Central Time, or on a weekend or holiday, starts handling the next business day.

Handling time

Handling time is 1 to 2 days. We fulfill Monday through Friday. Handling time runs from the cutoff after the order until the shipment is ready for the carrier. It is the time we spend checking the order and packing it in Boaz. It is not the time the carrier spends on the road.

Transit time

Transit time is 3 to 5 days for all destinations. Shipments go out Monday through Friday. Transit time is carrier delivery after we hand the parcel to the carrier. A greenhouse kit is a larger freight-style parcel than a shade cloth or a vent opener, and it still falls in this same 3 to 5 day transit range.

Estimated delivery

Total estimated delivery for all destinations is 4–7 business days. That figure is handling plus transit, counted in business days. If the delivery day falls on a public holiday, the estimate moves to the next business day.

How the days add up

Cutoff: 2:00 PM Central Time (Chicago), GMT-06:00.
Handling: minimum 1 day, maximum 2 days, Monday through Friday.
Transit: minimum 3 days, maximum 5 days, all destinations, shipped Monday through Friday.
Estimated delivery: 4–7 business days, all destinations.
A public holiday on the delivery day moves the estimate to the next business day.
